The pressure of human activity on water courses, such as the construction of dams or the use of large volumes of water for cooling purposes or the production of hydroelectricity has contributed to the decline and even the extinction of certain major varieties of migratory fish such as the Atlantic salmon or the European eel.

The primary goal of ProFish Technology is to preserve threatened fish species by limiting the impact of human activities on the migration of fish.
