Technical solutions for fish protection
![]()
The pressure of human activity on water courses, such as the construction of dams or the use of large volumes of water for cooling purposes or the production of hydroelectricity has contributed to the decline and even the extinction of certain major varieties of migratory fish such as the Atlantic salmon or the European eel.
The primary goal of ProFish Technology is to preserve threatened fish species by limiting the impact of human activities on the migration of fish.
Spin off of the University of Liège, Belgium, our company has developed an efficient new fish repulsion system, based on 15 years of scientific research and development, able to deter fish away of industrial water intakes by the mean of infrasounds generation. The flight response of fish to these particular signals keeps them away of these fatal traps that are water intakes.
Beside to this behavioural barrier, our company also proposes to design fish passes, as well for upstream migration to clear dams as for bypassing an hydroelectric power plant once deterred by the infrasound fish fence.
A integrated solution to solve a real environmental problem!
